Hikes with dog

With around 1,000 kilometers of hiking trails and 300 mountain lakes in the Schladming-Dachstein region, there are numerous hikes that are also suitable for four-legged friends. Many lush alpine pastures and beautiful places invite you to play and romp, but we ask you to stay on the marked paths and to keep your dog on a leash. We have put together all dog-friendly tours for you and your dog, but we have to point out that the Alpinsteig Höll to Riesachsee is not suitable for dogs due to the many stairs and sometimes steep ladders. In addition, when hiking in the valley head of the Obertal from Eschachalm (e.g. to Duisitzkarsee or to Keinsprechthütte), to Moaralmsee / Gumpental, in Ramsau am Dachstein from the Neustattalm to the Bachlalm and in Sölktal from Trogermühle in Mössna towards Knallalm as well as at the Halseralm (the path to the Sonnenalm and the Ochsenalm is permitted with dogs) dogs are forbidden, which we ask you to respect!

Walking the dog

Schladming-Dachstein offers numerous walks for you and your dog. On many of the paths you will find so-called "dog stations" with dog bags, we ask you to use them and dispose of them properly. Please also note that leash is mandatory in Styria.
